The landmark UCL Academy opened its doors to students for the first time yesterday. The six-storey polychromatic concrete clad school will offer specialisms in Science and Engineering within ‘Superstudio’ open-plan learning clusters, building upon direct input and mentoring from Universtity College London staff and students. Co-located upon the site, with the Swiss Cottage School to the South, the scheme is a lesson in maximising tight urban land use whilst boldly and positively contributing to the local cityscape.
The Academy has achieved a BREEAM rating of Excellent.
