Sunand Prasad, co-founder of Penoyre & Prasad and Chair of the UKGBC, Claudine Blamey, sustainability chief for Argent and Jon Koo, head of sustainability at Interface talk to Andrew Teacher of Blackstock in the first episode of Property Week’s Climate Crisis Challenge debate.
“The penny has dropped; young people aren’t going to join companies that are not going to walk this line. In order to survive, pretty soon the market will flip over and it will become essential to be moving towards zero carbon or a fossil-free future.”
“What we should ask of the Government in the run up to COP26:
- Progressive regulation & incentives to help create a level playing field in the market;
- A massive retrofit programme that needs to be invested in, including skills training – it is a fantastic opportunity for a huge regenerative economy;
- We should get ready to be able to tackle the climate challenge and net zero to ensure the industry has the skills that it needs.”
