Oak Park
This innovative elderly residential scheme combines, on one site, a range of integrated residential and care facilities with a shared community hub. Designed around a series of landscaped courtyard spaces the scheme will provide for residents with various levels of independence and need. The Central Hub space will serve both residents and visitors and is an active ‘heart’ at the centre of the scheme, prominently placed directly opposite the site entrance.
The nursing home and Extra Care housing both have direct internal access to the Hub. The 80 bed nursing home has been designed around a secure and sheltered courtyard with accommodation in a series of 10 bed clusters, each with their own lounge dining and support spaces.
The 51-unit Extra Care scheme and the 48 units of Supported Living apartments all have access to private outdoor space and shared community gardens. The landscape strategy is based around active and therapeutic use of gardens.
The Extra Care and Supported Living accommodation combines affordable rented and private sale flats.
