Northstowe Learning Campus
Our competition proposals for the Northstowe Education Campus provide an inspiring environment for the new town of Northstowe in Cambridgeshire. The campus acts as a threshold between town and country, reinforcing the urban qualities of the town while maximising the potential and opportunities of the site and its landscape.
The masterplan draws on the qualities of the Cambridge college typology, defining a progression of spaces that unfold from urban to rural, enabling a diverse range of different activities to take place.
The campus was designed with the community at its heart. As well as creating a first-class learning and teaching environment, the proposals provide a full range of flexible and well-furnished community spaces – performing arts centre, sports facilities and event spaces. These can be used independently from the rest of the school and represent a significant asset and resource for the new town.
