Dreywood Gardens
Dreywood Gardens Residential Development has been designed as a new retirement development and includes a variety of facilities for residents including on-site support in a secure environment. The apartments are built to Lifetime Homes standards ensuring quality of design and accessiblity and each include its own balcony or terrace.
The scheme was developed around a strong landscape strategy that creates a new shared central court and separate morning and afternoon gardens linked by walking routes for the residents to enjoy. The design encourages neighbour groups through features such as informal seating and new access into the site provides better connectivity with the surrounding community, whilst creating a clear sense of place and identity for the new residential development. Residents can access on-site communal facilities including a library and hobby area, restaurant, lounge and hairdresser.
Planning permission for this redevelopment of an outdated 1960s care home with state-of-the-art Extra Care and Sheltered Housing was obtained in just 11 weeks from inception. A total of 98 flats are provided; 60% affordable, 20% shared ownership, 20% private sale. The design meets Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4 and includes renewable energy generation through photovoltaic panels.
