Penoyre & Prasad’s RIBA Architectural Ambassadors second workshop has just taken place; this time with Gallions Primary School in Beckton.

Our volunteers introduced architecture and architects using a ‘day in the life’ of an architect and building project story. The children were then presented with a spaghetti challenge. Working in teams, they were asked to build the highest tower in spaghetti and yellow tack. The towers were then measured and sketched.

Dunraven Secondary School will take part in the next 2-part workshop. Activities will include sketching a library space, researching learning spaces, creating a model and drawing a new library and finally presenting their ideas.

The workshops have been designed to excite children about architecture and design and are facilitated by the RIBA Schools Programme.
