Our new book explores the art and science of bringing energy efficiency to existing buildings.  It includes beautifully illustrated essays and case studies which explore the main issues, offering practical solutions and a clarion-call to architects and clients for better, smarter retrofit.

“The transition to the low-carbon economy can be full of discovery, creativity, innovation and growth – and much of what we have to do will be retrofit. This splendid book shows how it can be done. It brings to the table an understanding of what is necessary and bubbles with ideas on how to do it. It should, and I hope it will, have a profound influence.”

Lord Stern, IG Patel Professor of Economics and Government at LSE

Inspiration for the book came from Penoyre & Prasad’s ‘Green Sky Thinking’ event in September 2011 in which Sunand Prasad gave a presentation referencing the practice’s re-cladding of Guy’s Tower, due for completion in spring.

Sunand Prasad will be holding a ‘Meet the Author‘ event at Ecobuild in the Building & BD cafe on 6th March, 14:00-15:00. Copies will be available to purchase at this event.

‘Retrofit for Purpose – Low Energy Renewal of Non-Domestic Buildings’ is also available to buy here.
