Penoyre & Prasad has won the Anna Freud Centre Campus project, to design clinical and research facilities for the leading children’s mental health charity across their two sites in Hampstead and Kings Cross.
The project includes making a new home for a pioneering new school for families with mental health problems. The redeveloped sites will also host a range of other Anna Freud Centre activities, including research, training and clinical services.
Penoyre & Prasad Partner Mark Rowe said “We are very excited by the opportunity to work on this unique project, bringing together as it does a complex mix of many of the typologies in which we have developed a deep knowledge. It also offers the chance to work with an organisation committed to the thoughtful involvement of their staff and users in the design process from the outset, and ultimately to support the Anna Freud Centre in helping people within this important, and often misunderstood, area of care.”
Ros Bidmead, Chief Operating Officer of the Anna Freud Centre, said “As a charity we aim to transform the lives of children, young people and families struggling with mental health issues. The redeveloped sites will help us achieve this goal and we’re delighted to be working with Penoyre & Prasad who’ve got considerable expertise and experience in producing creative and functional designs for complex projects.”
