Guy’s & Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust has confirmed the appointment of Penoyre & Prasad in partnership with Arup to carry out a feasibility study for the external facade remodelling of the 34-storey Guy’s Tower. The team will address issues associated with the structure, facade, windows and energy use of the tower, with the aim of revitalising the building using innovative solutions that are energy efficient and environmentally responsible.

Completed in the 1970’s, Guy’s Tower was one of the most innovative hospital designs of its time and still, we believe, the tallest hospital in the world at 143 metres high. The feasibility study, structural investigations and survey works will take approximately six months to complete.
