Suzi Winstanley

Suzi’s brings an inside-out design approach to the studio. In addition to leading interior design across sectors she has designed significant educational buildings including state of the art learning spaces for schools in the Middle East and workplaces for wellbeing for universities across the UK.

She is currently project leader for the practice’s competition winning scheme for the new Learning and Teaching Centre at Brunel University. Recent projects include Templeman Library for the University of Kent where she won an RIBA grant to research study spaces in contemporary University libraries which brought 1:1 furniture prototyping to the design of the project.

Prior to joining P&P, Suzi worked with practices in London, Cambridge and New York on a variety of projects. In 2004, she won a Nesta Creative Pioneer Award, and set up her own company, Design Heroine, an art, architecture and research collective specialising in the creation of innovative spaces. At P&P she is an external ambassador leading public installations and events and is a member of the RIBA British Architectural Trust Board. Suzi is a member of the Places Matter! Design Review Panel.

Suzi trained at the RCA where she began freehand drawing at super-scale, a practice that is key to her design and consultation methods. She is a regular speaker and guest critic and has taught at the University of Brighton, University of Cambridge and London College of Communication. She is currently a Professional Assessor for the University of Brighton Architecture RIBA Part III course.
