Penoyre & Prasad have won a high profile design competition for a new £17.25m academic building for the University of Kent. Providing new departmental homes for the Kent Business School and School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science, the design creates a new campus destination – a vibrant hub of teaching, social learning and academic workspaces within a woodland setting.
The 7,900m2 facility provides each of the departments with their own identity and welcome areas either side of an extensive shared teaching resource. The building is wrapped in a facade of autumnal coloured anodised curtain walling.
