Penoyre & Prasad are taking part in this year’s Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy, with our work titled ‘A Library of Libraries’.

Large libraries nowadays are designed as a set of flowing, interconnected spaces, commonly around an atrium.  This is a model of a university library organised in a different way: as a series of rooms, each a library, a consciously designed space of stillness. Stairs and galleries, themselves holding books and study places, connect the rooms, and the whole ensemble makes a centrepiece for the campus.

The Summer Exhibition has taken place every year since 1769 and is the world’s largest open-entry exhibition, including entries in all styles & media. The exhibition is open from 8th June – 16th August, full details here.
