Penoyre & Prasad’s new studio for the Wimbledon College of Art received a Green Apple Award at the House of Commons on 10th November.

The project is an exemplar of sustainable design for the University of the Arts London and has achieved a BREEAM Outstanding rating. Sustainable measures include north-south orientation, a high performance envelope, controlled natural ventilation, rain water harvesting and photo-voltaic solar collection.

The University of the Arts London also won an award for their ‘Carbon Dashboard‘, a database for UAL’s energy consumption and carbon output, designed and built by the sustainability team.

The Green Apple Awards recognise, reward and promote environmental best practice around the world and are one of the major environmental recognition schemes, both in the UK and internationally.
