Green Sky Thinking, the London-wide programme highlighting new thinking and practice in design for sustainability took place again this September.
Penoyre & Prasad hosted one of more than 50 events that took place over the week, taking our zero carbon education project in Crouch Hill as the starting point for an examination of community heating and power networks in a series of presentations titled ‘Is Decentralised Energy the Way Forward for London?’
Speakers included P&P’s Sunand Prasad and Ian Goodfellow, Peter North of GLA Sustainable Energy, Charlotte Large of LB Islington, Richard Davidson of Willmott Dixon and Brian Mark of Mott MacDonald Fulcrum.
The house concluded that with careful planning and the support of pro-active planning authorities, district network schemes do offer a viable solution to London’s future energy planning issues.
