Penoyre & Prasad is pleased to be leading a Design Think Tank this year as part of the London School of Architecture

Over the next four months, we will work with fellow practices Allies and Morrison, MccreanorLavington and Jan Kattein Architects, and six students on a design/research project exploring one of the critical issues affecting London’s housing crisis, that of superdensity.

We will investigate questions such as what it means to live at superdensity, can it accommodate and support the wide range of demographics that makes up London’s communities, and what are the design interventions that can create a sense of community in this type of housing. More specifically, how do we understand superdensity and is it the right approach in addressing the housing crisis in London.

The work will culminate with an exhibition and publication in the summer during the London Festival of Architecture.
