Gracefield Gardens is part of a site developed by Lambeth Primary Care Trust and is the result of a partnership between Lambeth Council and the PCT, enabling local people to access council services including benefits, housing and council tax as well as GP, nursing, foot health, midwifery and therapy services. The building houses a one stop shop Joint Services Centre as well as Primary Care facilities run by Lambeth Primary Care Trust becoming an important focus for healthcare and the delivery of Local Authority Services in the neighbourhood.
The facilities include three GP surgeries, multi purpose clinics and sessional suites. Ancillary facilities include offices for primary care outreach and other staff, together with meeting rooms, a library and other shared resource spaces for healthcare and social workers. Public access was clearly planned with a principal entrance leading to the reception area overlooking a central courtyard which serves as a source of daylight and constant wayfinding reference for both ground and first floors.
The four storey building presents an attractive and striking presence for all users, with a boldly coloured façade and large welcoming windows at ground and first floors.
The entrance is enhanced by the cutting back of the upper façade to creating a more inviting civic element within the neighbourhood.
